About the Producers

This coffee comes from a community-led project coordinated by Origen de Tierra, an organisation dedicated to supporting smallholder coffee farmers across Colombia, with a strong focus on the Huila region.

For this lot, Origen de Tierra worked closely with three long-standing producer families from Timaná—Alfredo Jiménez, Jacinto Marín, and Francisco Pérez—representing the second and third generations of coffee growers in the area. Alongside these families, approximately 135 neighbouring households contributed to this regional selection.

Origen de Tierra’s role extends well beyond aggregation. The organisation provides ongoing technical training, helping farmers improve harvesting practices, maintain exceptionally clean and healthy crops, and adopt environmentally responsible farming methods. A core principle of the programme is fair and transparent payment, with farmers receiving prices well above local market rates—ensuring quality and labour are properly valued.
