About Ngila Estate
This Kent AB is a refined Tanzanian coffee grown on Ngila Estate, a historic and sustainability-focused farm nestled in the cloud forests of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands. Grown at elevations up to 1,600 masl, this washed Kent AB lot offers a quietly complex profile – gentle, juicy, and elegant.
Established in the 1920s and revitalised in the 1990s, Ngila is now managed by Vera Stücker, who leads a team committed to quality, environmental stewardship, and community impact. The estate spans 100 hectares, with more than 150,000 coffee trees, and is Rainforest Alliance Certified. Conservation corridors, reforestation initiatives, and water protection programmes are woven into the farm’s daily operations, helping preserve the unique highland ecosystem.
Kent AB comes from the Glenmalure section of the estate, where Ngila focuses on high-grade, speciality coffee. This lot stands out for its delicate fruit character, tea-like structure, and exceptional cleanliness.
